All right, it's official. I have clothes in ziplocs and bags everywhere in my apartment. I am ready. And I finally got around to looking at the website other than the survival guide - required reading every year. Holy poop! No, no poop. Lotus Girls and Bootie. What more do we need on the playa? We will have a bar and, if I am tending, friendship coffee. One of the few reasons to drink out there. I am camping with a crew from the way back (a whole year ago). This year is a new beginning for so many. The arson last year rather broke a few spirits and jaded them from The American Dream. Hilarious theme as the Temple of the American Dream truly taxed the Michigan community and is up in all it's glory.
I truly think the arson of last year was just a symptom of the drama unfolding in many of our lives. We returned from BM to lonely existence. We were too overwhelmed and sad to deal with any one else's drama and so suffered alone and in silence for too long. This has been a year of suffering and visions of what can be and the truth of what was and is no more. For some, more truths than others. Now that we know them, this is the year to use them to make our lives more full.
I am ready - but before the desert, dessert. The D Bar in Denver is ahhh so good. I am going again tonight. I just pray it stays.
In a paper I read today - "the UK Home Office limit" - in reference to animal health.
Well, Bill, the Home Office just called and said "those mice are real sick, you see?"
I had my 36th birthday this week. So nice to be a perfect square again...
For my birthday, I filed for the big D and got a ring to celebrate. I am so thrilled. Life really does go on after Detroit!!!

So once upon a time there was a woman. She was the crazy CatLady, in the flesh!
This
woman is real. A real live person. She is talking to me about her cats and dogs. She can't have carpet because the cats will pee on
it. They have litter boxes in the basement, but they don't use them
regularly, so, logically, there is litter all over the floor in the basement. Plus
the dogs go down there.
I know - you're thinking this is bad....
So
she says, I just can't bring myself to go down there. I just can't
face the mess. And there is a rug by the front door that the cats have
taken a liking to too. Please don't call the health department. And I am
trying so desperately to not let my face scrunch into a foul disgusted
- ewwwwww. The rug, though, has a rubber bottom so the urine won't soak
through. And they pee on clothes if they are left on the floor. So, if
I remember right, it has been a couple months since she has been in the
basement. It did slip out of my mouth... no wonder they don't use the
litterbox. Now - I know I am a little anal. But - I clean my one
cat Raoul's box twice a week. Granted, I live in an apartment that is
fairly small and so this is a necessity. But even when I was in
Michigan and the box was in the laundry room, in the basement, I
cleaned it twice a week.
Alas, enough about cats and their excretions...
Today a picture went out to another list I am on of The Temple of the American Dream. The Temple of the American Dream is in Detroit - where I was until December. David Best designed it and BRAF, SPARC and BlightBusters helped make it happen - along with a whole lot of volunteers from MI and beyond. The unveiling is tomorrow - Saturday.
I so excited that this actually happened. It was originally going to be done in steel, but steel is very pricey right now and we couldn’t get enough. For more…. www.detroitdreamproject.org

Saturday is also a big day for the photographer of the picture above - he’s getting married to the lovely Angela.
